Start with the basics
Check that your business name, phone number, opening hours and website are accurate. Consistent information makes it easier for customers to know they have found the right business.
Review your profile
Check your Google Business Profile’s verification status and whether the category and listed services accurately describe what you do. Use the profile’s own guidance for any outstanding verification steps.
Show where you work
Your website should clearly explain your genuine service area. Give people useful information about where you are based and how they can contact or visit you.
Build a useful presence
Keep real photos and business information current. Visibility depends on several factors, so treat improvements as ongoing work rather than a promise of an instant ranking.
Separate visibility from ranking
A profile that is missing entirely is a different problem from a verified profile that appears for its name but not a broad service search. Note the exact query and location you are testing; local results can differ depending on where the searcher is.
Check access, status and accuracy
Confirm ownership, verification and any messages in the profile. Check the business name, main category, address or service-area setup and whether a duplicate exists. Resolve issues using Google’s official support paths; repeatedly creating new listings can complicate the problem.
What the website can and cannot do
Useful service information, clear coverage and consistent contact details support a coherent online presence. They do not guarantee a particular map position. Google describes local results using relevance, distance and prominence, so your searcher’s location matters too.
